      LegUp Training

      John Lloyd is one of the North of Englands busiest Judges.  He is on most panels covering various types of horses and ponies from Miniatures, Coloureds, Hunters through to Racehorses…. including judging Horse of the Year Show qualifiers. 

      UPDATE 18 MAY 7PM   – Forecast is for rain overnight clearing by 7-8am.  In the event of any remaining showers if necessary the barn will be available for some indoor discussion inbetween the ridden/inhand demos on the arena.   Dress warm.  

      The day will start with a talk and demo covering both In-hand and ridden showing with a section also discussing what a ride judge looks for. Various types and standards of horses and ponies will be used with the audience being encouraged to ask any questions they wish.    

      For those who would like some ridden guidance on improving their performance in the show ring there will then be the opportunity to bring your horse along and ride in groups of 3 to 6 (1hr) where John will give you pointers on what the judge is looking for and how to best present your horse.  All rider and their horses will be made to feel welcome and encouraged to make the best of themselves.  

      Talk/Demonstration  Members £5   none members £8  (Pay on the Day) Children under 16 Free of Charge if accompanied by a paying adult.

      Afternoon Ridden Clinics  members £15 non Members £20  (Must be pre-booked)

      Tracey Newman Show Jumping Sessions 

      Tuesday 29th May 2012 

      Tracey left John Whitakers yard having been there for 12 years managing and producing his young horses to set up her own yard.  Tracey prides herself on keeping managing & training horses uncomplicated and simple.  

      Internationally she has competed on Winning Nations cup teams, been placed in Volvo World Cup Qualifiers and competed at top International Show Jumping Events such as Spruce Meadows.  

      Nationally she has produced many successful horses including becoming British National Ladies Champion on Paradis a horse she produced herself from a 5 year old.    

       

      Sessions will be held approx. 2pm till 8.00pm at Myrefield, Lea Lane, Millhouse Green, Nr Penistone, S Yorkshire, S36 9NN     (60 x 25m Allweather Arena)

      Group Session will last 1 hour with 3 to 4 riders per group.

      £25 LegUp Members      £30 Non Members

      Some private Session will be available lasting 45 minutes (these are usually allocated to riders who can attend before 6pm.)

      Competitions held on superb allweather arena.  Surface upgraded for 2012.  WarmUp & Parking on Grass.

       Superb Rosettes 1st to 6th.  + Horse Treats to all 1st prize Winners 

      Providing there are enough entries the timed jump off result will be split into horses and ponies  with separate rosettes/Prizes

       

      5.45pm Clear Round Show jumping( last entry 6.30pm) fences approx 55cm  All rounds jumped after 6.30pm strict 3 refusals = elimination rule. £1 cash back to all rounds jumped before 6.30pm

      Class 1.   Freshmans  SJ A)50cm   B)60cm (horse & rider combination may only compete in one section)  Horse and rider combination not to have been placed 1st in any SJ class of 80cm or higher. Also open to any pony 13.2hh or under, rider 12yrs or under. .  horse and rider combinations in this class may not enter class 4).  As well as normal placings a rosette will also be awarded to all double clears.  An additional 1st place rosette will be awarded to the highest placed 12yrs or under rider

      2.    Minor Jumping  A)65cm    B)75cm  Show jumping  (horse & rider combination may only compete in one section) Section A Horse and rider combination may not  have been placed 1st in any SJ class of 85cm or higher in the last 12 months.  Section B Open to All

      General Rules & Conditions of Entry 

      1. Judges decision is final.
      2. Any objections to be lodged within 15 minutes of class finishing, with a fee of £20, if objection upheld the objection fee will be returned.
      3. Hard hats to current BSI standard with chin strap must be worn at all times whilst mounted and in, in-hand classes by handlers 16 years or under.
      4. No animal under 4 years to compete in ridden classes.
      5. If there are less than 4 entries in a section the organizers reserve the right to combine classes/awards or cancel class.
      6. Spurs may only be used by riders in SJ classes. No whips to exceed 75cm except in clear round.
      7. Cruelty and anti social behavior will not to be tolerated we reserve the right to ask any such person to leave the grounds.
      8. You are advised to have your own insurance.
      9. Unless the class is cancelled, No refunds for entry fees will be allowed.

      7.      BEST CHILDS PONY – Rider 10yrs or under Pony 13.2hh or under.   (this class is also a first ridden qualifier for Equifest – the highest 3 placed ponies of the correct height and rider age may qualify) Eligible entrants qualify for EQF, USOC, EQL, 15+.

      This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 15th – 19th August 2012.  The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.  (providing the entrant is compliant with Equifests Rules for the Championship final).       To qualify for the 2012 National Supreme Showing Championship Show at Equifest,Peterborough the first, second and third place horse/pony in the following classes 5,7,8,16,17,21-26, 29-30, 34-36, 38, 40-42 Will each receive a Qualification Card which may be collected at the secretaries. To enter the National Showing Championship Show the rider/handler and horse/pony must register with 15+ Horse & Pony Events within 14 days of the qualifying show date.       The miniature horse classes are open to horses not exceeding 38″ at maturity. The classes are run under the rules of the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain, a copy of the rules can be obtained from The President, MHCGB, Newclose Farm, Calf Fallow Lane, Norton, Stockton on Tees TS20 1PQ or downloaded from the MHCGB website www.mhcgb.net.  This show is a qualifier for MHCGB National Championship Show held at Moulton College Equestrian Centre, Northampton 26th -27th August, 2012.

      2. Any objections to be lodged within 15 minutes of class finishing with a fee of £20, if objection upheld the objection fee will be returned.

      3. Hard hats to current BSI standard with chin strap must be worn in all ridden classes and in in-hand classes by handlers 16 years or under.

      4. No animal under 4 years to compete in ridden classes.

      5. Stallions will be allowed but must be handled or ridden by appropriate person in line with current PUK rules.

      All team member entries must be submitted on one form and received by 19th June. minimum 3 team members - maximum 8.    No further team entries will be accepted on the day. 

      Points will be awarded in classes 1, 2, 3, 23, 31, 37, 39, 40.  1st = 6pts, 2nd = 5pts, 3rd = 4pts, 4th = 3pts, 5th = 2pts, 6th = 1pt. 

      All classes are open to both team members and individual entries.  Only one entry per class per team.  However clubs etc. may enter more than one team. Entrants may only compete for one team but may compete upto 2 horses on that team though not in the same class.

      All team members are invited to take part in the Evening Performance.  £100 to the winning team - plus team placings down to 4th.

      Class 56. HAVE A GO SHOWING  12yrs & Under (no group canter)

      (Class 55/56 combination not to have won 3 1sts in Ridden Showing. Class 56  open to any rider 8 yrs &  under)

       Class 57. 40 YRS & OVER RIDER CLASS (Riders who have competed in Affiliated showing or Dressage in the last 5yrs may not enter)

      Class 58. BEST LOCAL HORSE/PONY  (To reside within a 5 mile radius of Wortley Hall)

      Class 59. BEST MANNERED HORSE/PONY (lead rein entrants welcome)

      Class 61  MINIMUS JUMPING A) 30CM  B)45CM  C) 60CM  D) 75CM HORSE & RIDER COMBINATION MAY ONLY ENTER ONE SECTION LEADREIN ENTRANTS WELCOME NO SPREADS OR DOUBLE, CLEARS JUMP OF AGAINST THE CLOCK.  If numbers allow separate rosettes for 12yrs & under riders. 

      Class 62  PAIRS RELAY JUMPING  FENCE HEIGHT WILL BE AJUSTED ACCORDING TO CAPABILITY OF RIDERS/HORSES.

      Class 63  HORSE & HOUND SMALL FENCES ON YOUR HORSE THEN DISMOUNT AND JUMP WITH DOG!

      Class 64  INHAND CHASE ME CHARLIE!!!  JUST FOR FUN ENTRY FEE £3 PAY AT THE GATE WINNER TAKES ALL PRIZE FUND 10 ENTRIES = £30 … no rope to exceed 4 metres.  Will split competitors junior/senior if numbers allow…
