Featured Horse & Rider March 2010

Paige Latham & Jazz

Name?

Paige Latham

How long have you been riding? I have been riding for 9 years.

How many horses do you own? My family have 3 horses.  Jazz my pony, Finn my dads horse and Harry my mums horse who I rode at a dressage competition In October and came joint first with my friend Ellie.

Featured Horses name, age, how long owned, breed, sex?

Jazz, 7 years old, welsh section D cob, gelding, we have owned him for 3 ½ years.

Horses Likes?

Jazz likes licking out everyone else’s buckets and throwing his bucket over the door in a morning. He also likes people fussing him and bucking when he’s jumping because he gets excited.

Horses Dislikes? He dislikes his legs being clipped and he also dislikes bad weather so he stands at the gate wanting to come in.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m working on his jumping and stopping him being bargey so that he doesn’t think he is the boss!!!

What's your Favourite horse item? Velvet saddle pad with diamantes and his name embroidered on it.

What’s your favourite rider item? My favourite horse of the year show hoodie and also my moody mare hoodie.

What would be top of your Dream Equestrian Shopping list!? Our own property with stables outside the house so I can look out and see the horses all the time.

Best thing about horse ownership? Best thing about horse ownership is being outside in the fresh air and being able to relax and go out for a ride on Jazz with my mum, dad, Polly and Ellie and Grooming him because he loves being with me.

Worst thing about horse ownership? Worst thing about riding was loosing my confidence when I was 9. Then we moved to the yard we are at now....  Seeing my friends riding made me want to do it again and lessons from Carolyn have really brought us both on.

Aim?

To do BSJA on Harry my mum’s horse and also to improve Jazz’s jumping skills with Carolyn’s help.
