Carolyn has helped many riders to achieve their goals from riding more confidently through to training riders and horses who have gone on to compete with success.
When Carolyn was 11 years old, realizing that the pony crazy phase was not going to go away, her non-horsey, parents who, lacking in knowledge, made the mistake of buying a part-broken three year old as her first pony. Struggling through bucking, napping and both pony and riders inexperience, they soon realized that they needed to seek advice and have training from people who knew what they were doing.
Her first show was also a steep learning curve when she fell off twice and entered almost every class before determinately managing a clear round. This determination quickly developed into a competitive streak but she realised that her riding and ability had to improve if she was to win the coveted rosettes!
Within 12 months, and now mounted on a more suitable schoolmaster, she had jumped a second round clear at the Pony Club Show Jumping Championships. (pictured right) Additional success followed in the following years when she proved her all round riding ability representing Rockwood Harriers Pony Club at Area Level in Pony Club Mounted Games, Show Jumping,
Dressage and Horse Trials and competed in Junior BSJA classes.
After leaving school she then went down the British Horse Society route to gain formal teaching qualifications and was also awarded the BHS Young Trainers scholarship for the teaching of show jumping. A keen competitor she continued to compete at affiliated level in many disciplines.
With the birth of her son in 2009 Carolyn now teaches part time and when time allows enjoys competing her horses in various disciplines.
Her aim and ambition is to continue to help and inspire other to achieve their chosen goals. with the motto ‘Be the Best You Can Be’. To learn more about some of Carolyn’s past and present horses that have influenced her equestrian experiences see the Carolyn’s Horses page
