We are allowed to enter 2 riders in each class so as you can see we are especially short for M&M ridden, RC Inhand, Veteran and lead rein.
 
If you are able to help us fill these gaps let me know.  Entry fees are £15 per class and you must be able to get your self down to Newark (the venue is only 5 Min's of A1).on Saturday 14th August
 
In the case of where we have several riders to choose from I will be in touch to discuss your form .....  Selection is simply based on the person who best fills the criteria for the class however I am also of the opinion where we do not have many persons to choose from I would rather take an inexperienced 'extra' along for experience rather than send no one at all, so don't be afraid to contact me because you are not perfect...

Guinea Pigs Wanted (of the equine variety) for Demo

Some of you may of noticed the forthcoming diary date 19th June Showing clinic and demo/talk with Top Show judge and Trainer Nigel Oliver.  In the morning I will be looking for volunteers to bring their horses or ponies along, we will be looking for both Inhand and ridden horses/ponies.  Owner must not mind their horses being reviewed in terms of paces, confirmation, turnout, and way of going.   We will be looking for both Novice Local level competitors + some more Polished performers to show how both ends of the spectrum can improve themselves.  If you would be interested please phone or email Carolyn Goldstraw address as above.   LegUp Members will get first choice of these places before if necessary I will then open guinea pig places to non members to fill any remaining areas we may wish to demonstrate.

Team Dressage Report

Well done to all our member who attended the recent Team Dressage at Bromley on 18th April.  LegUp entered 2 teams, but there were also many members who had entered the competition in their own teams.  LegUp Teams came 4th and 6th in the P18 but I also know 4 of our members who have been coming to the flatwork training who decided only at last minute to have a go and their team came a creditable 5th.  To read the LegUp Team Members report click here

Team Competitions This Spring/Summer

This years date is Saturday 14th August.  We will be looking for riders to represent LegUp Equestrian in inhand showing, ridden showing and style and performance jumping. Theft of Horse Trailer

 

I have been informed this morning by one of our members that her Horse Trailer has been stolen overnight. (Wednesday night / Thursday morning) She wishes to warn people to be extra vigilant of such activities happening in the local area. (trailer was taken from a village between Hade Edge and Holmfirth)

 

The stolen trailer is a Blue Ifor Williams 505 with a distinctive adapted grill on the top part of the front unload and with a fairly new couple. Number plate T226 JKL.  Serial Number 284789.  Any information 0771 3322445

Daniella (pictured above) was awarded the Loraks Croft Original Memorial Silver Cup which was presented by Karol Ramsden.  The cup has been donated by Karol in memory of her horse who sadly had to be put down when falling suddenly ill age 17 years in 2009 to read more about Loraks Croft click here.

 

The victorious Ponies UK Riding Club Masters team were also each awarded with a certificate to mark their achievements when winning this national championship.

Family Membership

 

A new Family membership will be available which will benefit those with 3 or more persons.  Family Membership will cost £25 for those who are happy to receive all updates via website or Family Membership will cost £32 with updates being sent via the post.  To qualify all members must reside at the same address.  Named members will then all be able to receive discounts off training and competitions and will be included in the members points tables.   (Any body found to be applying under false pretences will be disqualified from points and will have any qualifications made invalid.)

Announcement Tracey Brown

 

Some of you may know Tracey Brown as one of the regular faces at LegUp, often to been seen at training days or at the shows often helping on the collecting ring.   The observant among you may of noticed Tracey getting bigger this summer, I am glad to say this was due to her having a baby who was born on 27th December (good date just in time to go buy the birthday presents in the sales!).  Tracey had a 'not so little girl' (weighing a healthy whopping 9lb 7 oz) who has been named Megan.  Congratulations to Tracey and her family.

Important Notice Presentation of LegUp Points Awards

 

The awarding of the 2009 Points Awards will take place during the New Years Show.  It would be great if as many of you winners as possible could attend (hopefully with horses) please dress in showing attire.  There will also be a presentation certificate to all those who were part of the team who went to the PUK Interclub challenge.  This presentation will be made after the end of the jumping classes.  Any other questions give me a call on 07740 178790.

Team Show Jumping Woodnook Arena

 

We entered 3 teams in the Rockwood Harriers Team Show Jumping.  2 teams competed in the novice and 1 in the intermediate.

 

The day arrived and it was wet and windy (all these events are enter before the day, and for a moment I was thinking I would of paid £10 not to have been there!!!) but all the effort of being up early and turning out in the yucky weather soon paid off, with the great atmosphere created by being in a team combined with some excellent performances, my thoughts soon changed and it soon felt like it was £10 well spent, on a good fun day out.  To read the full report click here
